In August 2019, ABI visited Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to inspect 51 bridges (~1.4 million sq. ft.) using the Rapid Automated Sounding (RAS) and Advanced Deck Imaging (ADI) systems. All bridge inspections were completed in just 3 nights! Most of these bridges were high-traffic interstate bridges and would have required extensive traffic control for traditional chaining and visual inspections. The RAS and ADI device only requires a rolling closure while also keeping all personnel out of live traffic. We would like to thank the Iowa Department of Transportation for having us out to perform a network-level inspection of some of their bridge decks.
